Here at Toyota Preston we were happy to be able to host the first meeting of many for the Million Makers team.
Million Makers is a fantastic fundraising initiative which raises money for The Prince's Trust. Vantage Toyota are patrons of The Prince's Trust so we have jumped at the chance to be part of this excellent scheme.
The idea behind the Million Makers is that various companies will compete to see who can take £1,500 and turn that into a much bigger figure. Once you've put these sums all together, The Prince's Trust will hopefully be able to take their 'million' and use it to continue their great work.
The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps young people aged 13 to 30 get into jobs, education and training. We were lucky enough, at our first meeting, to hear from one of their young ambassadors who took the time to tell us about how The Prince's Trust has helped her to achieve her goals and has enriched her life so far. We were all captivated by Hash's story and really greatful that she came to share her story with us.
Spurred on by hearing about the important work that this charity does we set about coming up with ideas for fundraising events and products that we could use to create revenue for the charity pot. Toyota Preston's Ian Graham is the teams Events Organisor and we're eager to see what is in store for us in the coming months.
In the next week the team will be taking their ideas in front of a board of people in a 'Dragon's Den' style environment. At this point they will find out if their pitch is strong enough to continue with the project and at this point they will receive the money to enable them to start production on their product.
We're all very excited here at Toyota Preston to see how the projects develop in the coming months and have our fingers crossed for Ian and the team as they go forward to the pitch stage.
